15 Mar Meet Sarah
Sarah was only 22 years old when she came to our clinic last August. She had just found out that she was pregnant with her third child. She was recently separated from her husband, under a lot of stress and unexpectedly pregnant. She knew that her family would not support her decision to abort, but since no one knew about her pregnancy yet, she considered abortion as a solution to her current situation. She came to our office anxious about her pregnancy, and unsure of what to do. At her appointment, we gave her the opportunity to pause and breathe. Sarah told us that she was a Christian, and allowed us to pray with her during her appointment.
At her follow-up appointment, she informed us that she had talked to some of her family members about her pregnancy, and that they would support her decision to carry. Between the support she received from her family and the support she felt from us, she felt empowered to choose life. We continued to follow-up with her and support her throughout her pregnancy. She was one of our clients that received a Thanksgiving meal donated by a local church last fall. At our last follow-up call with her in the beginning of February, we were told that she delivered a little girl. She has support from her family as she begins a new journey with her baby girl.
